Asian Range Sweep → London MSSthe session's first move

Evidence: StrongProfessionalSMC · Session · Reversal

The Asian range high and low are the two most obvious levels on the chart, and stops rest on both sides of them.

The setup: London's first move sweeps one of those sides — wick through, close back inside — and then displacement and a structure shift come in the other direction.

But this does not happen every day. Some sessions genuinely break out, and fading those is the most expensive habit in this family. The rule that tells them apart is available in real time.

Exact rules

Entry

  • Asian range = the high and low of 00:00–07:00 GMT from M5 data. It locks at 07:00.
  • Window: 07:00–11:00 GMT only.
  • Sweep: an M5 candle whose high goes above the Asian high but whose close comes back below it — mirrored for the low.
  • Displacement: within the next one or two candles, range > 1.5 × the prior twelve-bar average and body at least 70% of range.
  • Structure shift: a close below London's most recent higher low. Then wait for the retrace and enter on the confirmation close.

Stop loss

  • 0.15 × ATR(14) above the high of the sweep candle.
  • If price closes above that high it was not a sweep — it was a genuine breakout.
  • Risk 0.5% per trade.

Take profit / exit

  • TP1 = the Asian range low, or the level on the opposite side.
  • TP2 = one further projection of the Asian range width beyond it.
  • Hard time exit at 16:00 GMT — leave at the London close.
