Donchian Channel Breakout
Turtle System 1 & 2When price closes above the highest high of the previous N bars, you take a position in that direction. In the Turtle programme, System 1 was a 20-bar breakout and System 2 a 55-bar one.
Every strategy carries its exact rules, an annotated chart of the setup, the research behind why it should work at all — and the conditions under which you should not take it.

The crossover of the 20 and 50 EMAs gives direction. The 200 EMA is a regime filter — you trade only in the direction the long-term slope agrees with.
A fast average crosses a slow one and you take the position. It is the first system almost everyone builds and it has been tested more times, by more people, than any other rule in this library.
Draw from a swing low to a swing high and the tool marks 38.2%, 50% and 61.8%. The claim is that pullbacks stall at these fractions because of a mathematical relationship found in nature.
Floor pivots are arithmetic: the pivot is yesterday's high, low and close averaged, and R1 and S1 are simple reflections of it. Nothing is drawn by hand and nothing is judged.
An inside bar sits entirely within the previous bar's high-low range. Both conditions are required: high < mother high and low > mother low.
The previous trading day's high and low are the most widely watched intraday levels in FX. The trade is continuation on the break of one of them.
Bandwidth = (upper − lower) ÷ middle. When it sits in the bottom 20th percentile of its own 120-bar history, the squeeze is on.
A bar whose body completely covers the previous bar's body, closing in the opposite direction. Taken alone it is one of the weakest signals in retail trading — it happens constantly and predicts very little.
A two-period RSI is deliberately jumpy. It is not there to describe a trend — it is there to register, in one number, that the last two bars have been one-sided. Below 5 means almost everything recently has been selling.
The mechanism has peer-reviewed, FX-specific research behind it.
The mechanism is sound, but at least one step of it is untested.
Practitioner literature only — no published research supports the mechanism.
It rates the mechanism — whether there is published research explaining why the market should behave this way. It does not rate profit. Strong does not mean the trade will work. None of these have been run on our own account, and no page here shows a backtest figure.
One instrument, one timeframe, every rule visible on the chart.
Several conditions have to line up, and execution starts to matter.
Needs an outside data feed, a basket, real order flow, or an unusual tolerance for lumpy losses.
The level describes what it takes to run the strategy, not how well it works. Several Beginner pages are better evidenced than several Professional ones — a basket carry trade is Professional because it needs eight currencies and a swap table, not because it is cleverer than buying a pullback.
Reading the library is free. A plan is what lets you turn one into a robot.
Trading carries risk and most retail accounts lose money. Nothing in this library is financial advice or a recommendation to trade. The charts are illustrations of the rules on constructed candles — they are not records of trades and not backtests.
